Bee Propolis

Propolis is a fascinating substance, being naturally produced by bees just like honey. Specifically, bees use the rich resins and saps from evergreen trees to produce propolis. The end result is a material which is roughly 50% resin, 30% beeswax, and 10% essential oils with a small amount of pollen to round it off. The word "propolis" roughly translates to "at the entrance to the community". Propolis is a crucial substance for bees, and as this name suggests, it is used most commonly in the construction and protection of the hive. Thanks to the plant-based sources used by b
